The needs of leaders are our primary concern in ensuring the success and continuity of Windows programs.  As such, we provide ongoing program support at no charge to a network of more than 200 leaders for as long as their Windows program exists in exchange for the leaders submitting monthly workshop reports.

AWBW provides the following services for Windows leaders:

1. Ongoing Consultation includes monthly “check-in” phone calls to all of our active leaders. The AWBW Program Director is always available to discuss particular challenges, successes, or new workshops ideas with individual leaders.

2. Monthly Leader’s Update Newsletters provide new workshop plans and facilitate an ongoing dialogue among our entire network of leaders regarding their Windows Program experiences.

3. Hands-on Leader’s Art Workshops at AWBW’s Venice office/studio train experienced leaders in new materials and techniques while giving them a chance to share highlights and inspiration. All new workshops are then distributed via the Leader’s Update, so those who can’t attend also benefit. (View calendar)

4. Art Supply Support includes ‘free shopping’ in our Los Angeles storeroom of donated art supplies as well as art supply allowances for grant-funded programs, so leaders can purchase needed supplies.  See art supplies for tips on where to find discount prices.

5. Online Support gives password-enabled awbw.org access to all trained leaders. There is a searchable database of over 200 sample workshops, forums, online program reporting, and online exhibitions featuring artwork from participating agencies.

6. Exhibition Opportunities allow active Windows programs to participate in art exhibitions designed to help break the silence and end the violence in our communities. Periodically a “Call for Art” goes out to invite leaders to submit art created by the women or children in their workshops for local, regional, or national exhibits.

7. Publication Opportunities allow active Windows programs to participate in survivor's art publications. These include the AWBW Newsletter The Window, the Art Journals, and the Survivor’s Art Circle e-letter. AWBW both solicits submissions for select programs and also announces open calls for art.

8. Scholarship Opportunities make our Leadership Training available at no or low cost for leaders to implement a new Windows Program, or for active programs that need to have new leaders trained. Please contact us for more information on scholarship availability for upcoming trainings.

We are proud that our leaders find our support to be professional, friendly, and readily available.
