2010 Children’s Windows Program Results
During 2010, the Children's Windows Program reached over 35,000 participants at 104 agencies (6,500 children participating in an average of 5 workshops each).

At the end of 2010, 100 active programs submitted annual evaluations
assessing the usefulness of the art process in supporting children’s healing:


Handling Anger Positively:
97% of the leaders reported that the art workshops helped the children to communicate in a non-violent way.

Healthy Relationships:
94% of the leaders observed that the art
workshops made a positive difference in the children's relationships with their parents and/or siblings, and 96% observed a positive impact on relationships with peers.

The following statistics pool results from 5,969 log sheets completed by leaders after their Children’s Windows Workshops:

Freedom from Judgment:
96% of the workshops were effective in establishing a sense of freedom from judgment and ridicule.

Children’s Satisfaction:
97% of the workshops succeeded in giving the children a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.

Self-Confidence:
93% of the workshops were effective in helping the children to build their self-confidence.

We asked each leader to assess the Children’s Windows Program in comparison to other services provided by her shelter:

Breakthroughs:
86% of the leaders found the Children’s Windows Program “highly effective” in making breakthroughs with clients that are the hardest to reach, and the majority of these found the art program MORE effective than ANY OTHER service in this regard.

Building Trust:
86% of the leaders reported that the Children’s Windows Program helped the children build trust with the staff and use the shelter's support more readily.
