Walking through a home full of hate, anger, jealousy, evil. Looking forward to the future without shedding so many tears with God as my strength. |
ALERT: We are currently out of stock of Latina Art Journals and are seeking funding to reprint. To submit a letter requesting a reprint, click here. The Latina Art Journal was created to reach out to Latina survivors in an effort to let them know that they are not alone and there is possibility for a new life. Crossing boundaries of language and culture, the art speaks woman to woman about the impact of violence and the possibility of a better future.
Again and again we hear from shelter workers that this journal, designed by and for Latinas, has bridged gaps between traditional domestic violence services and growing Latino communities.
The journal features artworks from 16 survivors accompanied by the Latina artist’s own words in English and Spanish. AWBW has distributed oven 10,000 copies to battered women and their advocates across the country since 2000.
We invite domestic violence survivors to share their artwork with A Window Between Worlds. Your creative expression can provide hope and inspiration to others in future editions of this and other Cultural Windows Art Journals.
